CARRARAMARMOTEC FAIR 2007
This year Federico Gelli, Tuscany’s vice-president of the regional council, opened CarraraMarmotec 2007, the international Marble and Technologies Fair, held at Carrara from 2nd June.
426 exhibitors, 82 foreign companies from 28 countries. The vice-president Gelli, together with the president, CarraraFiere’s Director and many others authorities, visited the fair, with a special care for those stands which showed the best of marble, technology and innovation on international scale.
We would like to point out some parts of the vice-president Gelli speech, such: “Fair as the expression of Excellence of an economic sector, which shows a greater thriving”; we absolutely agree about the first part, not much about the Fair as expression of Excellence: to use such term it should be compared to Verona MARMOMACC Fair, since it grows every year, unlike CarraraMarmotec.
He also underlined the fact the the Fair demonstrates and expandes the trust in the Made in Italy bby foreign companies, but we think that they never stop to appreciate it…!
Foreign firms realized that economic profits are lower and lower, even Biennal Fairs such us Norimberga and Madrid won the challenge against CarraraMarmotec.
In our opinion, a solution could be Carrara Biennal, anyway it is ncessary to find a new concept to revitalize it.
Finally, a positive remark goes to MARMOMACCHINE Association for the functionality of their stand, beside their professionalism.
